Our company buys its dried nuts to 300 grower-owners.

Before arriving to our company, the crop is divided in different specific stages.

  



The plantation
That is one of the most important step that will influence the quality and the production of the future plantation.
The soil and the climate play a significant role in the quality of the nuts coming.



The size
The choice of the pipe system and the size of the trees determined the technical and economical aspects of a wlanut plantation. In order to assure the fruits growth and their development, the branches must be entirely lightened. When the size of the trees is controlled, the production is better, the nuts are bigger and the yield is at its best. In order to obtain a great production, the branches have to be regularly cut.

The soil maintenance
Weed prevent the water supply and the fertilizers to act properly.That is why the soil has to be maintain regularly and very carefully.



The crop
Generally, the crop starts mid-september. To make the nuts fall down off the trees, the producers use a vibrator. This machine shakes the trunks of the walnut trees in order to drop the fruits.
The collection is effected manually or mechanically.



Pre-packaging at the farm  
This gathers all the steps needed to clean the nuts. These can be more or less numerous depending on the size and the type of farming and the method of crop used.



The drying
The drying is an essential step to maintain the quality of the walnuts obtained in the orchards. Despite what we may think, walnuts are very fragile. Indeed in order that the nuts and the kernels keep their color and quality, they should  be dry as soon as they drop from the trees.
